This Redundant Journalist Guide to PR came out of a few things:

Even in 2009, many reporters don’t get what goes into PR, so this was a quick way of showing that it’s not just about writing the press releases, there’s a lot more to it.
It was also, given the tragic amount of layoffs happening in media – and the fact that it happened to me – something I thought that might be handy for reporters thinking of going into PR a) so they don’t make some of the mistakes I did and b) to see if they can actually do it.
