I couldn't agree more about the obvious demise. Case in point being that I feel a little aggrieved and reckon that I was ousted recently as part of a general culling culture. I freelanced there for 8 years in the Arts pages as a book reviewer, running a bi-monthly paperbacks column. I was recently asked to 'stand down' after what was regarded as too provocative a comment on a very polemic book by US anti-capitalist lobbyist Barbara Ehrenreich.
